ABOUT THIS PIECE
This Tabriz Persian rug was woven in northwest Iran during the mid-20th century, between the 1940s and 1960s. It features a majestic central medallion set within a ruby red field, framed by indigo borders enriched with floral rosettes and palmettes. The design is crisp and balanced, supported by a durable cotton foundation with a knot density of about 35 Raj, giving both clarity and strength. The dyes present harmonious reds and blues, accented by ivory and pale sky tones, with a natural, organic quality typical of this era. The pile shows areas of even wear, lying thin, which sharpens the drawing while leaving the structure sound. A refined Persian carpet with the quiet patina of age, it combines decorative elegance with collectible mid-century authenticity, making it well-suited for formal interiors or as a gallery display pie
