ABOUT THIS PIECE
This fine Kerman Persian rug, woven between 1950 and 1970, represents the elegance of mid century Kerman workshop weaving. The composition is dominated by a deep indigo field that carries a radiant central medallion in crimson, gold, and pale blue. Around it bloom delicate floral sprays and wreath-like rosettes, balanced by scrolling tendrils that create a sense of harmony. The broad ivory and soft gold border is filled with Shah Abbasi palmettes and rhythmic sprays of flowers, framing the design with precision.
The rug is woven in very fine quality on a cotton foundation with soft wool pile, giving clarity to each floral motif. Natural dyes are complemented by early chrome pigments, producing luminous reds, blues, and yellows that remain vibrant today. In excellent condition, this Persian carpet is both decorative and collectible, ideal for luxury living rooms, dining spaces, or gallery settings where a refined statement piece is required.
