ABOUT THIS PIECE
Soltanabad rugs, hailing from the historic city of Arak (once called Soltanabad), are renowned for their genuine craftsmanship and unique character. With a tradition stretching back centuries, these carpets are known for their sturdy weave, tight knotting, and rich, earthy colours. Made using the Farsi-bafi method (Persian hand-knotted style), they feature natural dyes, hand-spun wool, and traditional regional patterns, giving them both durability and a rustic, timeless appeal.
Influenced by 19th-century English designer William Morris, Soltanabad rugs strike a perfect balance between old-world charm and modern style. Their bold yet uncomplicated designs and vibrant hues make them a top pick for contemporary homes. Valued for their quality and artistry, these rugs are a standout example of Iran’s legendary textile heritage, making them a favourite for collectors and interior enthusiasts alike.
