Vintage Saveh Persian Kilim Runner
ABOUT THIS PIECE
Handwoven with expertise by the villagers of Saveh in central Iran, these vintage kilims are crafted using handspun wool and 100% natural dyes. Renowned for their distinctive approach, these kilims stand out for utilizing thicker threads, ensuring superior heat retention during the chilly seasons in Saveh.
Kilims are a terrific type of rug that is usually made from wool which is interwoven rather than knotted; this means that the surface is ‘flat’ instead of having a ‘pile’. kilims exhibit some of the most original and unique designs within Persian rugs, with simple fields of colours, geometric shapes and symbols and motifs of flora and fauna. With their minimal design elements, they are perfectly suited for various interiors.
