Contemporary Mahal (Soltanabad) Ziegler tradition Persian Rug
ABOUT THIS PIECE
This contemporary Persian Soltanabad carpet revives the grand Ziegler tradition with a fresh and luminous palette of moss green, rose, and sky blue. Hand-knotted in central Iran, it is woven with a supple wool pile and supported by sturdy Wool warps and wefts, ensuring durability while preserving a soft handle. The design follows the Soltanabad idiom of large stylised palmettes and boteh-derived medallions floating across an open field, framed by a spacious border system in muted terracotta and teal. Subtle abrash throughout the field reflects the use of naturally-dyed yarns, enhancing its organic character. The weave is crisp yet relaxed, giving the motifs an appealingly decorative scale. Ideal for both modern and classic interiors, this Persian carpet brings authenticity, artistry, and warmth.
The Persian Mahal (Soltanabad) Ziegler Tradition Carpet captures the essence of refined Persian artistry, blending timeless Ziegler elegance with contemporary charm.
