Vintage Ardabil Persian Kilim Runner
ABOUT THIS PIECE
Handwoven in Ardabil in northwestern Persia using 100% handspun wool and natural dyes, showing beautiful Abrash lines; Abrash is when a rug shows different shades of the same colour in its wool; it shows the rug as being of small scale and personal making rather than a large scale production.

210 × 90 CM (6'11" × 2'11"), DRAWN TO SCALE WITH TYPICAL AUSTRALIAN FURNITURE SIZES.
Small beside a 3-seater sofa. It suits a reading corner, under an armchair or across an entry better than a sofa setting.
Only 5 cm of rug would show beyond even a four-seat table, so the chairs would sit off it. This one belongs in a living room or bedroom.
Only 29 cm of rug would show either side of a queen bed. It works, but 45 cm or more looks settled. At the foot of the bed it suits well.
