Handwoven by Qashqai nomads of southwestern Persia.
Woven in the famous Qashqai stripe design with a fine soumak weave.
Soumaks are intricate flatweaves produced using the warp replacement technique. Weaving a Soumak requires significantly more skill and time compared to a flatweave kilim.
Qashqai weaving techniques and more generally the weaving traditions of Fars, are registered as world intangible heritage by Unesco.
