Rare Fine Bijdar Red Lachak Toranj Persian Kilim Rug
ABOUT THIS PIECE
Finely Handwoven in the famous weaving centre of Bijar, west Persia.
Handwoven from fine local handspun wool using all-natural dyes and on a durable cotton foundation.
Woven in an improvised iteration of the Lachak Toranj motif, in beautiful Abrash colours.
A highly desired quality, Abrash refers to when different shades of the same colour are present on a carpet, revealing expert use of dyes and small scale manufacturing of the rug.
Bijar rugs are often referred to as Iron rugs, due to their fine weave and reputation for durability.
