ABOUT THIS PIECE
Finely Handwoven in the famous weaving centre of Bijar, west Persia.
Handwoven from fine local handspun wool using all-natural dyes and on a durable cotton foundation.
Woven in an improvised iteration of the Kamu motif, in beautiful Abrash colours.
A highly desired quality, Abrash refers to when different shades of the same colour are present on a carpet, revealing expert use of dyes and small scale manufacturing of the rug.
Bijar rugs are often referred to as Iron rugs, due to their fine weave and reputation for durability.
