ABOUT THIS PIECE
Handwoven by Afshar nomads inhabiting the mountains of Kerman, eastern Persia, in an improvised iteration of the famous Sine riz motif. Made of some of the finest nomadic-sourced wools and natural dyes, Afshar Kilims ( flatweaves) are world-famous for their unique designs and sense of colour. Soumak-style small stars are typically woven in the field and sides of Afshar Kilims and are a good sign for differentiating original pieces from copies.
