ABOUT THIS PIECE
This is a genuine hand-knotted Mahabad rug from the Kurdish weaving tradition. It’s got a bold, nomadic design with large, stepped diamond medallions and simple geometric symbols. The rug’s thick wool pile is bloody sturdy and built to last.
The colours are beautifully earthy, a mix of browns, deep red, and faded pinks, all with a distinctive golden yellow highlight. The natural dyes have aged well, giving the rug a soft, lived-in feel. The visible wear and slight imperfections aren’t faults, just part of its story, showing it’s had a life. This is a fair dinkum authentic rug, offering a unique, rustic texture that’ll bring a bit of character and warmth to any space.
