ABOUT THIS PIECE
Masterfully Handwoven in the Chahar Mahal region of western Persia
Woven over a hundred years ago, this carpet still features a lustrous, soft pile with vivid colours owing to the use of high-quality handspun wool and natural dyes in its construction. The region of Chaharmahal on the slopes of Mount Zardkuh is famous for producing some of the most unique and durable village carpets in Persia.
Featuring a unique combination of village motifs and elaborate floral designs inspired by motifs of nearby Isfahan, Chaharmahl rugs are made from sustainably sourced local handspun wool and natural dyes and are famous for their character and individuality. Requiring a significant investment of time, expertise and material, Large Bakhtiari Chaharmahal carpets result from cooperation between a group of experts and can take many years to complete
SPECIFICATIONS
How it sits in your room.
233 × 138 CM (7'8" × 4'6"), DRAWN TO SCALE WITH TYPICAL AUSTRALIAN FURNITURE SIZES.
About the length of a 3-seater sofa, so it sits just in front of it with the coffee table on it. Floated like this it reads as a deliberate island rather than a rug that came up short.
Only 29 cm of rug would show beyond even a four-seat table, so the chairs would sit off it. This one belongs in a living room or bedroom.
Under the lower part of a double bed with 48 cm of rug showing on each side, so your feet land on it either side of the bed.
Measure the room, or just the area the rug should cover, and we will draw this rug in it to scale.
