Handwoven by Qashqai nomads of southwestern Persia.
Qashqai nomadic carpets are unique one of a kind piece of art handwoven through a combination of improvisation and reference to folk iconography.
Handwoven on horizontal looms, Qashqai carpets are made from sustainably sourced local handspun wool and natural dyes, Qashqai nomadic carpets often depict an aerial view abstraction of the weaver’s pastoral nomadic life, featuring many animals, people and plants and fields.
Qashqai weaving techniques and more generally the weaving traditions of Fars, are registered as world intangible heritage by Unesco.

275 × 80 CM (9' × 2'7"), DRAWN TO SCALE WITH TYPICAL AUSTRALIAN FURNITURE SIZES.
Suits a hallway about 110 to 140 cm wide, leaving 15 to 30 cm of floor showing along each side. It needs about 335 cm of length to leave some floor at both ends.
