ABOUT THIS PIECE
Handwoven using handspun camel wool, and sometimes quality sheep wool in Sarab, northwestern Iran. These remarkable rural carpets are woven using double-weft symmetrical knots with woollen pile on cotton foundation making them durable and firm.
In terms of design, Sarab carpets are known for their hexagonal Toranjs, geometric motifs and eye-catching use of creamy and ivory colours.
