ABOUT THIS PIECE
Finely handwoven in the world-famous rug-weaving city of Tabriz, this carpet is tightly woven from fine local hand-spun wool on a durable cotton foundation. Woven over half a century ago, it still retains its natural lustre and shine thanks to the use of high-quality materials.
Crafted with remarkable precision, Tabriz rugs often feature intricate medallion patterns, delicate florals, or poetic scenes drawn from Persian literature. Their colour palettes range from deep indigos and terracottas to soft ivories and pastels, brought to life with natural dyes. Some pieces incorporate silk for added detail, giving the surface a subtle luminosity. These rugs reflect not only the technical mastery of their makers, but also the layered cultural history of Tabriz itself, a city long at the crossroads of art, trade and storytelling.
