ABOUT THIS PIECE
Semi Antique Kilim, Handwoven in Sanneh in northwestern Persia from fine local handspun wool on a durable cotton foundation. Sanneh Kilims are famous for their exceptional aesthetic, fineness, and unique method of construction allowing for elaborate designs to be created as a flat weave Kilim.
This expertly crafted kilim features septuple Toranjs on a dark base making this kilim look remarkably eye-catching.
Kilims are a terrific type of rug that is usually made from wool which is interwoven rather than knotted; this means that the surface is ‘flat’ instead of having a ‘pile’. Kilims exhibit some of the most original and unique designs within Persian rugs, with simple fields of colours, geometric shapes and symbols and motifs of flora and fauna. With their minimal design elements, they are perfectly suited for various interiors.
