Handwoven by Afshar nomads inhabiting the mountains of Kerman eastern Persia.
Made of some of the finest nomadic sourced wools and natural dyes, Afshar Kilims ( flatweaves) are world-famous for their unique designs and sense of colour.
Soumak style small stars or signatures are typically woven in the field and sides of Afshar Kilims and are a good sign for differentiating original pieces with copies,
Generally, the more numerous and dense these soumak signatures are the finer the Kilim.
