ABOUT THIS PIECE
Handwoven by Afshar nomads of the Moutnainouse Bardsir regionthese small pieces were made to store flat bread in after baking the bread in a Tandoor style oven thus use thick heavy wool as insulation. The designs are unique expresions of these women’s creativity as they were designed and made for personal use while the weavers were also weaving Classicaly designed carpets for major Carpet producers on a commercial basis.
