ABOUT THIS PIECE
Shiraz Gabbehs carry the spirit of the Fars province (earthy, expressive, and rooted in tradition) while embracing a modern, minimalist taste. Woven in workshops around Shiraz, these rugs feature open fields of colour, checkered patterns, and stylised motifs drawn from nature and daily life.
Their pared-back designs and rich textures make them a natural fit for contemporary interiors, while their warmth and character bring depth to more eclectic or traditional spaces. Colours are vibrant yet grounded, and the patterns leave space for interpretation: subtle, soulful, and never overly polished.
Crafted using handspun wool from local sheep and dyed with natural materials, each rug is woven on a horizontal loom and finished with a thick, soft pile. The result is a tactile and timeless piece: honest in material, generous in feel, and easy to live with.
SPECIFICATIONS
How it sits in your room.
185 × 122 CM (6'1" × 4'), DRAWN TO SCALE WITH TYPICAL AUSTRALIAN FURNITURE SIZES.
About the length of a 3-seater sofa, so it sits just in front of it with the coffee table on it. Floated like this it reads as a deliberate island rather than a rug that came up short.
Only 21 cm of rug would show beyond even a four-seat table, so the chairs would sit off it. This one belongs in a living room or bedroom.
Narrower than a queen bed, so it sits across the foot of the bed, tucked 20 cm under. A pair of runners either side is the other way to dress a bed this size.
Measure the room, or just the area the rug should cover, and we will draw this rug in it to scale.
