ABOUT THIS PIECE
Handknotted by Qashqai weavers in southern Iran, this Qashqai Gabbeh is wool on a wool foundation with a shimmering micro-checkerd field of red, orange, yellow, blue, green, and ivory. A saturated madder red border frames the palette and shows clear linear abrash from small-batch dyeing. The handle is supple and the pile even and lustrous. With a fine, tactile texture tretaining the cosy character Gabbehs are known for.
An artful Persian rug for contemporary or layered interiors, and a collectible Persian carpet for those who value traditional craft in modern colour.
