ABOUT THIS PIECE
Masterfully Handwoven in Chahar Mahal region of western Persia.
Woven over in the second quarter of the 20th century this carpet still features a lustrous thick soft pile with vivid and live Abrash colours owing to the use of high-quality handspun wool and natural dyes used in its construction. The region of Chaharmahal on the slopes of Mount Zardkuh is famous for producing some of the most unique and hardy village carpets of Persia. Featuring a unique combination of geometric village motifs and elaborate floral designs inspired by motifs of nearby Isfahan, Chaharmahl rugs are made from sustainably sourced local handspun wool and natural dyes and are famous for their character and individuality.
