Nishapur Plate 8

Following the glorious tradition of Nishapur ceramics and using only natural materials and minerals, Nazhoo ceramics are masterfully hand-formed, hand-painted, and then finely glazed to reach their enchanting lustre and utmost durability.

To gain such a distinction, despite the current tendency to use industrial substances and shortcuts, artists of Nazhoo have researched historical resources and analysed masterpieces to revive the intricate and centuries-old craft of genuine pottery of the Nishapur. In terms of design, the Nishapur style is well-known for its bold flora and fauna motifs, calligraphy, and connections to the Sassanid Empire and Central Asian pottery.

The art of pottery in Iran traces back to 8000 years B.C and is famous for its rich history, diversity, and distinctive design.
