This captivating rug has been handwoven by Qashqai nomads of southwestern Persia.
Qashqai nomadic carpets are unique, one-of-a-kind works of art handwoven using a combination of improvisation and references to folk iconography.
Handwoven on horizontal looms, Qashqai carpets are made from sustainably sourced local handspun wool and natural dyes. Unesco registers Qashqai weaving techniques and, more generally, the weaving traditions of Fars as an intangible world heritage.
