Vintage Afshar Vases Persian Rug
A viewing is a request, not a booking: we write back within 24 hours to confirm a time, in open hours or out of them. No account needed.
ABOUT THIS PIECE
A vintage Afshar Persian rug from southeast Persia, hand-knotted in wool on a cotton foundation, with a lattice of flowering plants on an ivory field.
An aubergine lattice divides the field into diamonds. Each holds a flowering plant rising from a small vase, its blossoms in blue and apricot, and small madder-red rosettes sit where the lattice lines meet.
It was cut from a larger rug and has been re-bound on all sides, so the lattice runs to every edge with no border.
At 253 by 65cm it fits a hallway or the narrow space beside a bed. View it in our Richmond gallery, or explore more vintage Persian rugs.
